When Alex is not programming or reading books, he is playing Nintendo Switch with his two beautiful daughters. Alex and his wife also enjoy taking their girls and Springer Spaniel George out on hikes all across the USA whenever the chance arises.

He has also maintains a few packages on Hex.pm and is currently obsessed with taking Elixir application observability to the next level with his latest project PromEx.

Bruce Tate is a kayaker, climber, programmer and father of two from Chattanooga, Tennessee. A serial entrepreneur, he has helped start three companies, and most recently served as CTO for icanmakeitbetter. The author of more than a dozen books is active in the Elixir community as a speaker, author, editor and conference organizer. His love for teaching and computer languages led him to found Groxio in 2018.

In a previous life, Steven was a Network Security Engineer before joining The Flatiron School as an instructor, where he helped hundreds of New York City's engineers fall in love with code. He's also designed, and built several Elixir/Phoenix systems with them including a distributed IDE to help students get started on their coding journey.
